Bac Ha Market - Sapa

Bac Ha Market is located in Bac Ha town, Lao Cai province. The market is held weekly and is one of the few Northwest highland markets that still retains the traditional trading culture of the Mong and Red Dao ethnic groups.

It takes about 2 hours to travel from Lao Cai town to Bac Ha Market. Along the way, tourists will see terraced fields stretching like vast carpets across the mountains. 

As a weekly meeting point that can't be missed, Bac Ha market is vibrant with colors and rich in products. Perhaps the most impressive items for visitors are the exquisitely woven brocade products made by local women. The market attracts visitors with its ancient culture, rarely seen elsewhere. Although it is the largest market in the uplands, it is free from the hustle and bustle of aggressive sellers.
